The Experience
You're driven up Babadağ (Mount Baba, 1,960m) from Ölüdeniz in a minivan — about a 30-minute drive. At the launch site, your tandem pilot briefs you, straps you in, and you run together off the edge of a mountain.
The flight itself lasts 25–40 minutes, soaring over pine forests, the Blue Lagoon, and the coastline. You land on Belcekız Beach at Ölüdeniz — right on the sand. Your pilot typically offers acrobatic maneuvers (spirals, wing-overs) during the descent if you're up for it.
No prior experience is needed. You're strapped to an experienced pilot who controls everything.

Season: Flights operate year-round but are most reliable April–November. Winter flights depend on weather. July–August is peak season — book 2–3 days ahead.
What to Wear & Bring
- Shoes: Sneakers or running shoes (no sandals — you need to run at launch)
- Clothes: Comfortable, layered. It's cold at 1,960m even in summer — bring a light jacket
- Sunglasses: Essential (bright sky and UV)
- Camera: Secure strap or GoPro mount. Ask your pilot about attachment options
- Don't bring: Large bags, loose items that could fly away
Safety
Tandem paragliding in Ölüdeniz has an excellent safety record with licensed operators. Babadağ is one of the world's premier paragliding sites — steady thermals, reliable conditions, and a large landing area.
Risks are real but manageable:
- Choose a licensed company (not the cheapest random offer)
- Flights are cancelled in unsafe wind conditions
- If you have heart conditions, serious fear of heights, or back/neck issues, consult your doctor first
